“The minds are still sharp. The drive is still there.”
Since 2014, the OSSPL has proven that the love of the game doesn’t have an expiration date. We are a league of men 70 and older who refuse to trade the diamond for the lazy-boy chair. While we play for the camaraderie, make no mistake: when the umpire calls “Play Ball,” the competitive fire burns as bright as ever. We play hard, we play fair, and we play for the sheer joy of the sport.
Every Tuesday morning at Glen Ashton Park, the OSSPL brings together decades of experience for one common goal: great Slo-Pitch. Our four-team league is built on a simple philosophy: Compete at 10:00 AM, celebrate at Noon. From May to October, we balance high-level play with the best post-game traditions in Oakville.

Nothing beats that “less than 24 hours” energy! There’s something about the first pitch of the season—the fresh cut grass at GlenAshton Park, the clean jerseys before they get their first dirt stains, and the inevitable “friendly” debates at the pub afterward.
Blue vs. White
Gold vs. Red
By tomorrow night, the standings will be perfectly (and cruelly) divided. Two teams will be riding the high of an undefeated season, and the other two will already be “rebuilding” and blaming the sun, the wind, or a questionable call at second base.
Location: GlenAshton Park, Oakville.
Post-Game: The traditional noon gathering at the pub. Whether it’s celebrating a walk-off or drowning the sorrows of an 0-1 start, the first post-game pint of the year always tastes the best.
Good luck to all the squads—may your bats be hot, your hamstrings stay intact, and your beers stay cold!
OSSPL sponsor Oakville Pump & Patio is our weekly post game venue from May to Sept. A reliable spot to celebrate the day’s wins (or vent about the losses) over cold beverages and good food. “Unmeasurable service” is the perfect way to describe a staff that can handle a crowd of that size with a smile.
The OSSPL is a men’s slow-pitch league for players 70 years and older who want to continue to play for enjoyment at a competitive level consistent with our ages. We play for fun, however all teams are highly competitive when the "Play ball" command comes from the umpire.
